Buzz Me Babe
(J. Moore) - This recording from 1959 is virtually a carbon copy of his hit "I'm A King Bee" (same "bee beat").
You buzz me babe, on your telephone
You buzz me babe, on your telephone
Wanna know from you baby, stayin' still goin' on

While I'm young babe, and I'm still in my prime
While I'm young babe, and I'm still in my prime
Wanna love you baby, while I still have time

(harp solo)

When I'm old babe, and can't stand no more
When I'm old babe, and can't stand no more
I wanna hug and kiss you baby, and I think I'll let you go

I'm A King Bee
Well I'm a king bee, buzzing around your hive
Well I'm a king bee, buzzing around your hive
Well I can make honey baby, let me come inside

I'm young and able to buzz all night long
I'm young and able to buzz all night long
Well when you hear me buzzin' baby, some stinging is going on

(well... buzz a while... sting it then...)

Well I'm a king bee, want you to be my queen
Well I'm a king bee, want you to be my queen
Together we can make honey, the world ever never seen

Well I'm a king bee, can buzz all night long
Well I'm a king bee, can buzz all night long
Well I can buzz better baby, when your man is gone

My Home Is A Prison
(J. D. Miller, Green) Recorded in November 1960 in Crowley, LA for Excello.
My home is a prison, I'm living in a world of tears
My home is a prison, I'm living in a world of tears
I've been in misery, since the judge give me 99 years

I had a real pretty woman, said she didn't love no one but me
I had a real pretty woman, said she didn't love no one but me
But I caught my baby cheatin', my home ain't where it used to be

I got bread and milk for breakfast, milk and bread at supper time
I got bread and milk for breakfast, milk and bread at supper time
And the food I got for dinner, is a low down dirty crime

Yes I shot my baby, I did it because she treat me wrong
I shot my baby, did it because she treat me wrong
Now the only thing I have, this lonesome jail that I call home

Strange Love
This song (a Slim Harpo original) is from 1958. Note how it refers to the honey bee theme in the last verse.
Slim pronounces "dinner" in the second verse like "dinnaw" or "dinnour".

Strange love, cutest thing I ever seen
Strange love, cutest thing I ever seen
You remind me of somethin' that I have seen in a dream

Can I take you out to dinner, some place where we can be alone
Can I take you out to dinner, some place where we can be alone
Tell you how much I love you, then let me hold you in my arm

(Harp solo)

You asked me there's honey, love to be your honeycomb
You asked me there's any honey, I love to be your honeycomb
Then when the time is right darling there'll be some lovin' goin' on
